Soft baitscome in a plethora of different models used in different types of fishing! A soft bait is a rubber bait that we often use to fish for pike or perch. There are many different methods that you can use and it's a matter of trial and error!
A simple and good method is to let the bait sink to the bottom and then crank it a few times before letting it sink again! This makes the soft bait “dance” in the water.
You can also attach the hook in different ways and use different types of weights. Something that has become very popular for perch fishing is dropshot fishing which can be incredibly effective on slow days.
A wobbler can move back and forth laterally or vertically to attract fish! The movements are designed to create a fish-like action in the water, which is enhanced by the fish-like shape of the drag.
Most people have a hook spoon, the size and shape of which will depend on how deep it goes. Sometimes you want to fish close to the surface and then you want a small spoon that does not move much water and sometimes you want a larger spoon that pushes the wobbler down to the depth.
There are a few different techniques that depend on whether the wobbler sinks or floats. Something that often works is to jerk a little sometimes and make crank stops. We like to use these lures when we fish from a boat and then it is often trout, perch or pike that we fish. In the store we sell good models from Rapala!
A spinner consists of a body and a spoon. When the lure is retrieved, the spoon spins around the body, creating vibrations that attract the fish. This is therefore the most common type of bait used in our area, fishing with spinners is effective and very easy.
If you are fishing for pike and perch, bright colors can work well and if you are fishing for trout / char, silver and copper are usually two favorite colors! Grayling are a fly fish but you can lure them to bite with small black spinners
In the shop, we have a large selection of spinners in all possible colors and sizes!
Spoon lures can be used for trout, char and pike, among others! These lures come in different models and sizes that are well suited to different types of fishing. In the picture you see an example of a spoon lure that is well suited to pike fishing.
If you are fishing for trout and char, narrower models are usually preferable.
The spoon drag should mimic an injured fish and it therefore moves irregularly in the water. Here too, crank stops can be a winning method! In the shop we have the staff's favorites and we often use spoon drags for mountain fishing as you can cast far with them!
